Helping build trust with your clients, even before they’re clients, is a key part of personal brand photography. So this is where I can help.

Ed Evans, founder of Aurelian Financial Planning, is a Chartered Financial Planner based in Berkhamsted. Working primarily with local families, small businesses, and City professionals, he wanted to create a brand around his values of integrity, sincerity and empathy. These were the foundations for the brief.

Ed is a naturally warm character, very easy to get on with, and embodies his values. It was important that we conveyed that side of him.

He’d already decided he wanted to differentiate himself from the typical ‘steel and glass’ City imagery of many financial advisors. We settled on using character heritage locations associated with tradition, longevity, and abiding wealth. The wonderful Ashridge House was perfect!

We also wanted to show Ed in his working environment, and it was important to give a nod to his historic Berkhamsted office location (his comfortable and welcoming office is situated opposite St Peter’s Church, one the most recognisable landmarks in the town).

My approach is very collaborative. That means a discovery chat over a coffee, discussing the brand and where a client wants to take it, sharing ideas, and chatting through themes from which we build out scenarios and shoot plans. And that collaboration continues into the shoot, with scope to change up ideas on the day.

Here are just a few of the photographs we created during Ed’s personal branding shoot. My special thanks to Alexa McGeoghegan for all her help arranging permissions and access at Ashridge House 😊

DM if you’d like me to help you build trust and engage with your brand’s audience through personal brand portraits.
